From January 23 to 24, the Asia Pacific
Medical Education Conference (APMEC) was held in Yiwu, Zhejiang. Professor Wang
Kunjie, Executive Vice Dean of West China School of Medicine (WCSM), along with
representatives from relevant departments, attended the conference and
delivered multiple presentations.

Initiated by the Yong Loo Lin School of
Medicine at the National University of Singapore, the Asia Pacific Medical
Education Conference was held in China for the first time in 2026. With the
theme "Diversity and Inclusivity, Harmony in Diversity," this
conference aimed to establish a meaningful platform for collaboration,
strategic co-creation, and joint responses to the ever-evolving challenges in
medical education. This marks the first time our school participated as an
invited institution.

During the conference, Executive Vice Dean
Wang Kunjie served as the moderator for the sub-forum "The Future of
Clinical Skills Training in the Age of Virtual Reality, Simulation and
Beyond." Ten representatives from our school delivered presentations
covering various dimensions, including medical student management and
leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities, health science
popularization, innovative teaching methods in clinical skills courses, quality
control throughout the education process, faculty development and
community-building strategies, artificial intelligence in medical education,
and medical student training. These presentations fully showcased our school's
achievements and practices in the field of medical education.

During the conference, our team engaged in in-depth discussions with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore on topics such as international faculty development, international curriculum construction, and student exchange programs, further consolidating and expanding the collaborative relationship between the two institutions. Additionally, our delegation visited the "Belt and Road" International Medical College of Zhejiang University for an exchange visit, where practical and targeted discussions were held on MBBS programs and the training of postgraduate international students.
This event highlighted the achievements and practical models of medical education at our school while also allowing us to gain insights into cutting-edge concepts and innovative approaches in international medical education. It holds positive significance for further refining our medical talent cultivation system and building a high-level international faculty team. In the future, the school will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with world-leading medical education institutions, promote international collaboration, especially in deepening and broadening international education, and continuously enhance our school's influence in the field of medical education in the Asia-Pacific region.
