On June
12, as a professional forum in the field of biomedicine at the 2nd Belt and
Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange, the Roundtable on Precision
Medicine and Digital Health Innovation Development, co-hosted by the Sichuan Provincial
Development and Reform Commission and West China Hospital (WCH), Sichuan University and organized by
the National Industrial Innovation Center of Precision Medicine(NIIPCM), was held in Chengdu. Academician
Wei Yuquan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Weerachai Arjiharn, Director
General, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR),
Huang Zhi, Deputy Director General of the Sichuan Provincial Development and
Reform Commission, Executive Vice President Huang Jin and Vice Presidents Wu
Hong and Chen Lei of WCH, as well as nearly 100 domestic and international
scholars, clinical experts, and corporate executives attended the meeting.
Deputy
Director General Huang Zhi and Executive Vice President Huang Jin delivered
opening remarks, and Li Yuan, Director of the Scientific Research Laboratory
Management Department of WCH and Executive Deputy Director of NIIPCM, presided
over the meeting.
Vice
President Wu Hong, on behalf of the hospital, formally announced eight
international cooperation projects to countries jointly building the Belt and
Road Initiative, covering multiple fields such as liver minimally invasive
technology, thoracoscopic surgery, and cutting-edge ultrasound technology.
Supamas Lisarabhakdi,
Minister of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation
(MHESI) of Thailand, witnessed the signing ceremony between Chinese and Thai
enterprises.
Three
scientific and technological innovation achievements of WCH were also released
on site: a lung cancer target gene mutation diagnostic kit (achieving precise
and intelligent sequencing of lung cancer genes), a universal anti-tumor
therapeutic cell vaccine (with innovative immunological principles and drug
forms), and an intelligent and precise digital therapy for Parkinson's disease
(a multimodal modeling digital biomarker system).
