Recently, under the leadership of the
Ministry of Commerce, the International Exchange and Cooperation Center (IHECC)
of the National Health Commission and others, West China Hospital (WCH) successfully
hosted three specialized training courses as part of the 2025 China Aid Medical
Training Course in Chengdu. These courses focused on medical imaging equipment
configuration management, pharmaceutical regulation and industry development
cooperation, and medical equipment usage training. The opening ceremony was
attended by Wang Jian, Deputy Director of IHECC, WCH's President Luo Fengming,
Executive Vice President Huang Jin, Vice President Hu Jiankun, and
representatives from WCH's Department of Radiology, Pharmacy Department,
Equipment and Materials Department, and International Office. A total of 97
representatives from the health and medical sectors of 26 countries, including
Ethiopia, Russia, Cambodia, and Mexico, participated in the training.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director
Wang Jian emphasized China's long-term commitment to international health
cooperation. She expressed confidence that the participants' time at West China
Hospital would broaden their horizons and forge lasting partnerships. She
encouraged the trainees to bring the knowledge and experience they gained back
to their respective institutions and countries, and to jointly build a
sustainable cooperation platform in the future. This platform would gather
wisdom to tackle health challenges and promote the construction of a global
health community. President Luo Fengming introduced the hospital's century-long
history and comprehensive strength to the participants. He highlighted that,
supported by the Belt and Road Initiative, West China Hospital has established
in-depth cooperation with numerous medical institutions and health departments
in Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. He hoped that the trainees would
not only master the advanced technologies of West China Hospital but also
deeply experience the cultural charm of Chengdu. Executive Vice President Huang
Jin presented the class leaders with badges.
Mr. Mao Soklim from Cambodia, Ms. Ayikoru
Victoria Dema from Uganda, and Ms. Guerrero De Leon Lizeth Artany from Mexico
spoke on behalf of the trainees.
The purpose of these specialized training
courses was to strengthen the health and medical cooperation between our
hospital and countries along the Belt and Road. It aimed to share China's
mature experiences in medical imaging equipment configuration management,
pharmaceutical regulation and industry development, clinical technology, and
medical equipment application, and to discuss common ideas and explore
cooperation opportunities.
