The paper, titled "Psychedelics elicit their effects by 5-HT2A receptor-mediated Gi signaling," reveals a novel mechanism involving a non-canonical Gi signaling pathway mediated by the serotonin 2A receptor (5-HT2AR). Based on this discovery, the team has developed new antidepressant candidates with significant potential for clinical translation. This finding provides a crucial foundation for innovating therapeutic strategies for related psychiatric disorders.
