On July 3, a delegation led by Ms. Nina Vogel-Falahatkar, Head of the International Relations Division of the Bavarian State Chancellery, visited West China Hospital, Sichuan University (WCH). Professor Hu Jiankun, Vice President of WCH, received the delegation in Conference Room 1 of the Administration Building. Officials from the Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and directors from relevant hospital departments attended the meeting.

Professor Hu, on behalf of the hospital, extended a warm welcome to Ms. Vogel-Falahatkar and her delegation. He introduced the century-long history and development of WCH as a leading research-oriented hospital in China. He noted that since Sichuan Province and Bavaria established their sister-state relationship in 2023, high-level exchanges have been frequent and cooperation across various sectors has continued to deepen. He also highlighted the growing interaction between WCH and the Bavarian medical community. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen practical cooperation in medical technology innovation and talent development.

Ms. Vogel-Falahatkar expressed her gratitude for the warm reception. She highly commended WCH's achievements in medical care and scientific research. She noted that both Bavaria and Sichuan are located in southwestern regions of their respective countries and are inland provinces, providing a natural connection for collaboration. She expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperative outcomes between WCH and several Bavarian institutions, and voiced her support for facilitating more joint projects under the framework of the sister-state relationship.

During the meeting, WCH presented an overview of the hospital and its ongoing collaborations with institutions including Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
