Prof. Cheng extended a warm welcome to President Azamfirei and his delegation. He noted that President Azamfirei is an old friend of West China Hospital: since his first visit to Chengdu in July 2025 to attend the "Belt and Road" Dean’s Forum and their subsequent meeting at the WHX Dubai in February 2026, the two sides have engaged in in-depth exchanges in areas such as student and faculty mobility, collaborative research, academic activities, and staff training, reaching multiple cooperation intentions. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity for the delegation to gain a deeper understanding of the hospital's distinctive strengths in critical care medicine and student exchange programs, thereby opening a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
