Global clinical practice guideline led by WCH scholars published in BMJ as a cover story

On May 4, 2022, British Medical Journal (IF: 93.333), one of the Big Four of clinical medical journals, published a clinical practice guideline regarding PCSK9 inhibitors and ezetimibe in adults at different risk stratification of cardiovascular events, in the form of a cover story. Associate Professor Hao Qiukui from the Geriatrics Center is the writer and first author of the guideline, Associate Professor Li Sheyu from the Endocrinology and Metabolism Department and Doctor/Assistant Professor Nicolas Delvaux from University Hospital Leuven, Belgium, are the co-authors of the guideline, and West China Hospital is the leading institution. This is the first time for Chinese clinicians to lead a global guideline of the field.

The guideline panel also involves general practitioners, cardiologists, endocrinologists, internists, geriatricians, methodologists and patient partners from China, Canada, Belgium, Norway, the US, Switzerland, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Australia, the Netherlands, Cameroon, the UK and Romania.
